From Peter Becker Sent Wed, May 31st 2000, 22:04
All: Some time ago, I hit up a few lists for a U.S. vinyl pressing plant that would press a small run of vinyl. After looking around, I found one and have had a great experience with them. The prices were good, the tests came out well but most importantly for us, the turnaround time was astonishing!!!! We ended up doing a run of 100, originally looking to do 50. Oh, well. Check out: http://www.urpressing.com Tell 'em Peter Becker sent 'ya , though with their Southern accents, they continue to refer to me as Peter "Baker" (no joke...) A tip: if you can do your laquers elsewhere, you might save time and money. For those who have asked, Raz Mesinai ( aka Badawi and 1/2 of Sub Dub ) and I pressed a limited number of copies of "String Quartet for 4 Turntables", a piece he'll be World Premiering at NY's Lincoln Center in July of this year. Details on the performance and on the vinyl release as we get close to the date.
