A couple of things 4-related: > dego/4 hero's remixes are excellent too. they've > done nu yorican soul, terry callier, global communication, tintonton > duvante, talvin singh and a bunch of others. my favourite 4 hero remix, > and one of my favourite remixes _ever_ is their take on "meiso" by dj > krush and the roots. a truly outstanding track, if only more hip hop and > jungle could sound like this: nice mid tempo apaches, warm rhodes... and > the roots are excellent (how is that new roots album anyway?...) The 4 Hero "Reinterpretations" got somewhat panned when it came out, but there's some absolutely top-notch material on there, especially the Photek remix (under some other obscure alias) - it sounds like he's got Elvin Jones locked in his sampler! Also excellent is the remix by Shawn J Period, featuring Ish aka Butterfly from Digable Planets (R.I.P., although I hear Ishmael is coming out with a new album!!!) > From: > Aaron S Michelson <asm2+@andrew.cmu.edu> > > Is it just me, or is Paperclip People's "4mypeepz" the dopest thing > ever? What a fabulous CD... and I milked it out of musicblvd.com a > couple days ago.... what a bargain! Very cool, slickly produced house-y > detroit techno. I find a lot of Carl Craig's stuff hit and miss... but > damn it, when he hits, it's pure gold! I find Carl's stuff to be the shit across the board, but that's just me. 4 My Peepz is great. If you like house music, check out his Paperclip People compilation "The Secret Tapes of Dr. Eich". > And the Recloose EP is stunning as well....... even cheaper from > musicblvd.com... costs like $4-5. Speaking of Recloose, his track "Landscaping" on the last Freezone compilation is great!
