for those asking about kit's drop beat mini-album, i just picked this up at ameoba in berkeley. trackwise it's a pretty even ratio of beatless bitscapes (ala mimic), minimal cr-styled tech-house, and chugging syncopated weirdbeat. those who know my tastes know i'm not qualified to comment on at least a third of that, but the rest of the material i'm very much enjoying. it's a kind of a synthesis&reduction of kit's various stylistic concerns over the past year or so, and in my opinion some of his most eloquent, coherent material to date. fwiw, sc
