ummm like all their releases last year sounded like garbage.

SCHEMATIC and MAS are labels that have that Gescom sound, but even more digital
stuff going on. Good stuff, but I'm just tired cuz it's overhyped. It's good, but
you automatically think "These guys wanna be Autechre" It seems like many many many
artists are doing that sound these days that's what I have a problem with. it took
me years to understand Autechre's approach to making tunes, and then once many many
artists were doing it I figured it mustn't be too difficult.

RI stands for Rather Interesting. It's Atom Heart's label. Each release is
COMPLETELY different from the other and none of them try to mimick other artists in
the electronica's sound. A good example is Senor Coconut. This entire lp is nothing
but Cha Cha Cha and Bolero music, but it is sampled, cut up and pasted in ways that
Electronica fans would die for. It is an amazing album and I can't believe Atom
Heart programmed all this stuff from LATIN music samples, it's nutz!!!!

gilly
