General Press Release Subject: 8.8.98 event in Kingston, Ontario For the first time ever Kingston's historic Fort Henry will be the site for an all ages, open-air party. It survived the War of 1812, will it survive the onslaught of 5,000 partiers? On Saturday, August 8th, from 8pm to 8am, an international line-up of DJs will be spinning techno and house musics in the impressively fortified in-field. The line-up includes headliners Kenny Larkin and Canada's Dogwhistle, as well as special guests from the UK, Michael Dog (Planet Dog Records/Megadog) and Lottie (Hooj Choons, The Gallery). Completely the line-up are Toronto's Mark Oliver (Guvernment, Global Groove Network), Rob Air (Bunker, Dence Electron-ics) and Chris Twomey (New Powers Music, Exclaim Electronics). The concert sound and lights will be provided by the very experienced Westbury crew. 8.8.98 is presented by the Kingston youth group Youthquake, who are dedicated to major change brought about by the action of young people. Youthquake hopes to raise awareness of kid's issues and 8.8.98 has provided space for several service groups to present their information. DIRECTIONS: Fort Henry is located on Highway 2, just east of the City of Kingston. From Highway 401, take exit 623 (Highway 15) south to the end, and turn right at Highway 2.
