Runaways - "The Tale of Punky Wisdom" (Ultimate Dilemma) The Runaways are better known as A.J. and Joe 2000, a.ka. Mo' Wax recording artists RPM. "The Tale of Punky Wisdom" is the first single from their new album "Classic Tales", which I'll have to pick up after hearing this. . The a-side starts with a nice synth line, cut-up beats and vocal, and some scratching, all with a chilled feel. This track is pretty dense with the Runaways busting out samplers, decks and live instruments, and I love it. It doesn't devolve into mayhem with a lack of rhythm or melody, this track is melodic as shit. A 2, "Metropolis" is composed of some urban ambience, a hip-hop beat and some really prominent violins or celloes (sp?) or something, some synths, blips, and an uptempo feel. Still, not as dense as "Punky Wisdom". The flip is basically electro mixes of the a, but they work just as good as the original. Had a great time mixing the electro remix of "Punky Wisdom" with "Looking For the Perfect Beat". :) This is UD012, I think. Anyone with any more recent Ultimate Dilemma releases want to step up with some reviews? .jeff / chris. .do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own . you may both be wrong .
