Greetings All Skinny Puppy Fans Riz (Neotropic) is on tour for the next month, so I've taken it upon myself to respond to the barrage of abusive e-mails she has forwarded me (see response from Riz below). Could someone please forward this to whatever the original source was (ie. Skinny Puppy fan list, web site, etc...). It's sad that in this age of easily accessed media information people still believe everything they read. I'm the president of Ninja Tune's North American office and was present at the interview with the Montreal Mirror. At no time did Riz refer to Skinny Puppy as dull. The actual quote was in response to the question 'How did the Skinny Puppy Remix come about?'. Riz (Neotropic) response was... 'Nettwerk originally asked for an Amon Tobin remix. He wasn't available so Ninja Tune suggested me. They had only heard my track on Ninja Cuts and thought it was dull, therefore I really had to prove myself with the mix' Unfortunatly this was taken out of context and turned around to look like she called Skinny Puppy dull. The Montreal Mirror has admitted this was there mistake and are printing a retraction in next weeks issue. Riz is a big Skinny Puppy fan. She is also an incredible nice person, and obviously gets quite upset when tons of people e-mail her calling her a 'whore', 'cunt', 'talentless bitch, etc... or threatening her. I suppose the main thing here is that even if she had called them 'dull', it's not exactly grounds for abusive e-mails. We don't sit here and send death-threats to anyone who's ever slagged off a Ninja Tune release. It's just music...fuckin' relax. Love Jeff Waye Ninja Tune / NTone Records e-mail from Riz to me follows... hey jeff i attached a few angry letters from skinny puppy fans and am a tad upset with the mirror as they have totally destroyed the interview and made me out to be this big shot...i want some kind of an apology if not to their fans but to netwerk records as he has no regard for my feelings and not only that he has mis quoted me, i never would ever say an artist is dull, i feel that maybe we shoudl let netwerk no of my sadness of this piece and do not want them to think badly of me.....i really enjopyed doing the mixes and felt extremely privilged to do it.....i'm sorry for my anger but it has upset me particulary when you read what peopl now think of me and i feel i will never be able to work with the paper again, and also feel he has totally disregarded my feeling and reputation as neotropic please can you foword this onto him and the emails that i had to read...... thanks best rizx
