I've really not heard any good ones yet in the entire euro world, at least nothing that sounds as good a self-oscillating SH-101. So while musicians want a modular dr= um voice to be able to produce a useful sound in nearly all of the range o= f available parameters, in fact what seems to happen is that each voice as = a limited range. When you go out of the useable range, you can produce a so= und, but it may not actually be very useful. > > > > > > On Thu, Mar 7, 2019 at 12:58 PM Mike Perkowitz <xxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx> wrote= : >> >> >> This is totally not an answer to your question but might be interesting:= a virtual modular can be a ton of fun for making a drum kit. you can assem= ble the standard kinds of analog drum sounds and then go nuts from there, w= ithout of course needing to buy 57 oscillators. I have a couple of really n= ice kits on my original nord modular (I can fit 4-8 sounds in the DSP for o= ne slot, depending, and make a full kit from 2-3 slots) and am working on t= ranslating them to the G2. I also recently got an Axoloti and think you cou= ld make a nice kit there, and end up with something pretty compact and usef= ul. it's nice doing things like creating the kind of six-oscillator network= used for the 808 hats and using it as a source for hats and cymbal, and be= ing able to modulate the filters or play with the relative pitches to see w= hat happens. obviously, basic 808 kick/tom stuff is pretty easy, but FM plo= nks can be nice too. I also built some patches with resettable LFOs for mod= ulation that let me make loops that have semi-random modulation that still = repeats each measure. >> >> here's a (crappy, sorry) video using the nord kit: https://youtu.be/JOQu= vF0vczQ?t=3D170 >> and a recording of the g2 kit: https://soundcloud.com/perkowitzlabs/g2-b= eats >> >> >> >> >> >> On Wed, Mar 6, 2019 at 12:01 PM Jimmy Moore <xxxxxxxxx@xxxxx.xxx> wrote: >>> >>> I'm in the market for some drum sounds and I don't really know what's o= ut there.
