That's right, I threw it in because like the various ways of cleaning
records, vinyl vs CD generated a heated argument which never produced a
definitive answer. I myself use a mixed batch, but prefer vinyl! I believe
the conclusion that could be drawn from the debate was that (1) vinyl
captures a broader frequency range than CD so in theory is better... but (2)
at the shallow end of the hi fi market a CD player will capture/produce
better quality than a record player.

There's also the more practical points such as (3) vinyl requires more care
(both to record and sleeves) (4) you have to shell out for a new stylus at
least once a year (though there was a laser cartridge at one time that read
the groove with a laser beam!) (5) CDs are convenient, you can use with a
remote control, program, needn't flip over, more music per disc etc. (6)
longevity of format - CDs may eventually become replaced by more advanced
digital formats, ie. minidisc, DVD etc. (7) For singles, vinyl is more
expensive; for albums vinyl is cheaper - however sometimes a format will
have extra/different tracks.

And say children what does it all mean? These cuts are really fresh.

PS No problem using soapy water instead of alcohol yet!
