Re: (idm) Kid Koala/Money Mark Review

I'm happy you liked it but that was definitely some weak shit.
The best part of the show was the beginning when the club DJ was
spinning old skool hip hop from KRS to Tribe Called Quest.

Kid Koala was on the scene for what seemed like 15 minutes playing a
side role to the Cut Chemist who isn't a bad DJ but not in Koala's
league.
I was at a show maybe a year ago where Kid Koala and the NinjaTune crew
were spinning at the Troubadour and all hell broke loose. Beat
juggling, good hip hop and innovative turntabling.

Then the show turned into some KROQ alterna-shit (Asian dub
foundation?). On a positive note, after I left the main room I found
this kid DJing in the side room and tearing shit up.

What a waste for $15.

No disrespect to anyone involved but I just wasn't feeling any of the
music that night except maybe 10 minutes of Koala.

ps. I agree that the Hollywood Athletic was tight. I'm wanting to see
Bruno Guez of Quango spinning some spacy shit there one of these days.
