(idm) Quick Blech review

Got there too late to hear Chantal. Much bigger crowd than last time and
in a perkier mood. Nice new DR slides, albeit one with an unfortunate
font.

Strictly Kev was spinning when I arrived, including Ae's East Flat Bush
Project or whatever it is - the one from the Radio Mix and three tracks
from the upcoming Boards LP (one of which was the new version of
Aquarius). Up to his usual standard with super-tight mixing.

Plaid on at around half one - begin with a new song. Then the first track
from Undoneson and a couple from Not For Threes - the one with the
growling bassline which gradually increases in complexity and the calypso
style one. Then the Lagos remix thing (I think) and another new one.
Scoobs in Columbia (new version - as heard in the recent Peel session) was
the second track now I think about it. One of the newies was a real
corker. All round by far the best live performance I've seen from them
(the third).

To follow was Chris Duckenfield, RAC-man and ex- ex-Warp shop person. As
expected very slick but at the same time infectious - a mixture of
bleep/electro/techno stuff. Unfortunately I had to leave at around 2.45
for that night bus ritual but the crowd seemed to like it. This man
should get out more.

Thanks to the usual people for the usual.

No gratuitous bagels this time.
