I am new to this list but dang it, I am glad that I subscribed---so far U cats have the most intellectual conversations and discussions yet! I feel somewhat @ home(relaxed) Shall we continue: We, everyone who listens to music must begin to understand that music is a part of culture---just like art. Indispensable as it is pleasing, we should really begin to find ways in which we can make a true change! Our foolish shibboleths should be pitched, just like twe week old trash. Most of us gather our information from TV, and i could not agree with Rjyan more that we should treat the TV like a trash----Just pitch it! For the average mind feeds on media like a silk warm feeds on a mulberry tree(ha ha ha). We must find ways to make music work for people in a way that enlightens them and brings them consciousness..........As for me, cats like Sun Electric(thanks ORN!) John Beltran, Global Communication, Autechre, Plaid---and a host of others brings me peace of mind-------------. In this, I can think of what I want to think of and consequently, I am not told (or suggested )what to think(TV)! Of course drugs is a tricky word, and I dont think now is the time for me to discuss that. Still, we must find ways and avenues for the masses of people to be enlightened---not for the few---for this is how Oligarchies form---in the hands of the few! Please, feel more than free to hit me personally about the issue or just keep on posting them--but by all means keep the discussion alive---for it does relate to IDM------ Peace U cats, until tomorrow!
