:: latest mp3 releases ::

>> 01. Ernesto Aeroflot - "Advice For A Youngster"

A lovely single from our favorite multi-aliased Finn, Ernesto Aeroflot
wrote this song as a birthday present for a good friend of his, and was
kind enough to share it with all of you. The title tells it all: a
constant string of vocal samples run throughout this upbeat track
giving, well..advice. Its for all you youngsters out there.

>> 02. Dub Jay - "Mai EP"

The Kikapu-Ohio link grows even stronger with this latest release from
our friend Warren Sulcs, otherwise known as Dub Jay. You might
remember Warren from his remix on the algorhythm ep we released here
last winter (kpu.027); consider that remix a warm-up for what you are
about to hear now.

The Mai EP is actually a sort of collaboration between Dub Jay and a
few of his close friends. Contributors include Pat Kabat on clarinet,
Geoff Kelly on didgeridoo and tapping, and Steve Neola adding some of
his drum recordings. Dub Jay has taken this original source material
and constructed and produced it in such a way that is truly remarkable.
Discussion of styles and genres is superfluous when describing Dub
Jay's output; it is such an amazingly beautiful mixture of acoustic and
electronic sounds and instruments that one cannot pigeonhole it into a
corner. This is deeply poignant music that should be enjoyed by
everyone.

>> 03. KDP - "Clever Title"

Ohio native, steel mill worker, IDM producer: Chris Moore has done it
all and then some. His first-ever release on any label of any sort,
this five-track EP is a wonderful introduction to his unique if
somewhat deranged style of production. Heavy rhythm programming,
strong melodies, cut-up vocal samples; everything is hard and heavy and
in-your-face on this release. But at the same time, there is a
definite cheerful vibe flowing throughout, and we hope that you feel
your body popping and your head bopping as you enjoy these tracks.

>> 04. Leenak & Makunouchi Bento - "Miopedi"

Our second collaborative project in as many releases, Miopedi is more
of a split release that was planned and conceived in a collaborative
fashion, rather than the usual joint EP. Hence the tracks being mixed
up by the two artists. You might recognize Leenak (aka Kaneel) from a
previous Kikapu single and releases on a multitude of labels such as
Camomille. The duo Makunouchi Bento has been seen all over the
internet as of late, with a plethora of releases on various net.labels.

These two powerful forces have come together for this very special
release of abstractedness and droney ambience. This release is
definitely one huge mood piece, and we could not be happier with the
finished product. Experimental to the core, this is also a mixed-media
release that includes accompanying artwork provided by Makunouchi
Bento.

:: upcoming releases ::

>> 01. Eleventy-One - "Random Sampling"
>> 02. Eight BT - "Eight Bits A Week" (3" cd)
>> 03. Eric Laurence - "Broken EP"
>> 04. Dub Jay - "Songs For A Room"
>> plus many more releases in the works!

:: And finally, we wanted to let you know that we have a new mirror
