It seems worth pointing out that at low bitrates RealAudio actually sounds
better than MPEG.  At higher bitrates, the fidelity of MP3 is much better.
RealAudio has been specifically tailored to provide streaming audio of
adequate quality over ordinary phone lines, whereas MP3 is intended to
provide "near-CD" or "near-FM" quality with data compression of about 10:1
to 15:1.  Try the G2 encoder at 11kbps or 16kbps, and then compare to an
HQ MP3 at the same or similar rate.  At rates a little higher than that,
MP3 is superior.

RealAudio still sounds bad, and MP3 absolutely is not CD quality -- but
that's a different subject.
