(idm) pattern tub Q & more more more

hi, ho.

could someone render an opinion unto me regarding freeform's "pattern
tub" disc? i have "free" (like it) and "elastic speakers" (think i
liked it...never really listen to it) and i'm wondering if it's worth
picking up. please explain your answers.

gotta give big ups to all who recommended mannequin lung (and plug
research in general). mannequin lung manages to scratch my
ester-brinkmann-style itch and my funky itch at the same time. pretty
good stuff, excepting "city lights." i am also amazed by low res
"approximate love boat" - fuck wow cool. keen scuttling sound
sculptures in fractally-folded tinfoil and overamplified tone-arms. has
that chaotic phthalo thing, but is somehow better. which is saying
quite a lot.

also picked up the geroyche vs. wintermute 12" on kool pop. "letzte
zuflucht". not _exactly_ the combination of autechre and christoph de
babalon the hype sheet implied, but still pretty good stuff if you like
simplistic, crunchy/distorted post-DHR noise with some sweet dark
ambient bits that do remind me of christoph's most excellent _destroy
berlin_ 12". a little too loopy at times, but there are moments of near
genius and they don't just assail you constantly with too much
distortion.

if only i didn't have to work, i could write decent reviews once more.
