There was a little program that shipped on the Soundblaster CD with boxed
version of AWE32 a couple of years ago. It's called TextAssist and could
read any highlighted text. It came with 8 reader presets ("John, Betsy,
etc") and some tweakable parameters. Another one, called VoiceAssist, was
supposed to provide voice command interface.
