(313) The Godfather Trumps the Wild Kingdom

The last two Wild Kingdoms have been mix-up affairs of new/old
acquisitions, since I have been on an extensive buying spree to fill out
my collection for several special features happening this month.
Playlists reside at http://www.kfjc.org/music/playlist.php?i=32549 and
http://www.kfjc.org/music/playlist.php?i=32597 .

If you tune in tonight for the Wild Kingdom, you won't hear no techno.
That because it's the month of Mayhem at KFJC, a month of special
features, starting out with "Doing It to Death", 24 hours of James
Brown. I'm in the lead-off slot, Midnight to 3:00 AM, and will be
proudly spinning the best the Godfather has to offer. This coming
Tuesday morning, 10A-2P, I'm doing a 4 hour special on Jazz Harp. Next
Saturday night/Sunday morning at 12A-3A, it's a special called "Double
Dutch Delight", an introduction to the music of Maarten Van Der Vleuten
and the Connection Machine. Next week, a special on the music of SF
artist Jason Williams and his Parallel Recordings label. I have a two-
part Delsin special planned for later in the month. To view the Mayhem
callendar, go to http://www.kfjc.org/programming/mayhem/index.php .
Folks with a varied musical diet will find features of interest....

"The Wild Kingdom" airs on KFJC-FM 89.7, Saturday night/Sunday Morning,
12A-3A (7A-10A GMT). Potential listeners outside the San Francisco Bay
area can find a webcast at http://www.kfjc.org/netcast/index.php .
Present and past Wild Kingdom playlists are also archived at kfjc.org.
You can also check out archived playlists from my first KFJC show "Just
Desserts" that was on Fridays 10P-2A from 1992 through 1999. Archived
playlists exist for that show starting from Fall 1995 to New Year's Eve
1999/2000, so you can see what what I'm up to these days is pretty much
consistent with what I was up to all along.

If you do tune in (especially via the web), please take a little time to
let me know your locale. I'm also interested in promo music from all
over and in promoting local (San Francisco Bay area) techno-type events.
If you want to do some promotion for an event, contact the KFJC
promotions department at xxxxx@xxxx.xxx to arrange ticket giveaways
and/or to send information for inclusion in our concert outlook. Thanks
to those who have sent promo music so far.

  Regards,
