"permutation" is i think somewhat more varied in sound, w/ a more electronic
edge than the overall live jazzy feel of his earlier releases on ninja. that
said i'd recommend them all. if anything the percussion patterns on
"bricolage" and the eps "chomp samba" and "pirahna beats" are more complex
and varied, w/ fewer straight ahead stormers. the squeaky track on "pirahna
beats" (can't remember title, track 3 i think), is one of the more
'militaristic' thumpers but still manages to be v/ swingin, w/ lots of
lovely surface noise crackle.

the hidden agenda remix on "chomp samba" is pretty cool, too. sounding like
an upgraded starker tackhead, w/ its stuttering rythmn stabs. "bricolage" is
consistantly dark, but not never static or doomy. v/ deep bass swells, live
sounding jazz samples, fluid rhythms and bouncing percussion. 70 min at a
domestic price, buy, buy.

hoping to catch him on the ninja tour w/ mixmaster morris in boston.
