It came out in Europe/UK over a year ago, and it seems that Atlantic is finally getting off of their sorry major label ass and getting it in the shops over here at a decent price. It's still a favorite release of mine after a year+ of rotation.< Glad to hear more of you in the US will be able to get hold of this ('Sacre Bleu' - Dimitri From Paris) cos it's wonderful. And it's packaged like some kitsch French fifties lounge music thing, but there's all kinds of jazzy-funky-vaguely housey stuff on there. The sleeve notes are piss funny too - supposed to be some old American army officer or something reminiscing about his times in Paris during the war, and how he salutes Monsieur Dimitri for reminding him of those happy days via the power of his music. On the CD, there's a hidden track at the end which is probably my favourite track of all. Huge sweeping strings and boom crash drums, and this breathy French woman (hey, maybe it's that one off the Air album ;-) going 'Pareee, Pareee, Pareeee....'. Really beautiful stuff. Don't know what that track's called though, cos like I said, it's supposed to be hidden. Which is annoying. Damon. np: stupendous Run-DMC remix thing off the radio.
