I thought this would help give a boost to Kit's latest CD. Its a review I
wrote (duh),soon to be out there..somewhere...soon.Anyone know if the
Clayton/Pole show will be broadcasted? im not on idm-so please repsond
directly.

Artist: Kit Clayton
Item: nek sanalet
Host: ~scape (# 002)
Form: CD or double 12"

Kit Clayton rises once again, this time on ~scape records. This release
nestles itself somewhere in between the emotional depth and production
quality of Chain Reaction and Autechre. Quite fitting since ~scape is
actually the label belonging to Stefan Betke (a.k.a. Pole of Chain Reaction
Records). Previously recording for such esteemed oddity labels as Plug
Research, Parallel and Drop Beat- to name a few- Clayton uses this ~scape
release as an outlet to show his most enticing and successful leap into the
still fresh world of dub. Though dub is a new division to most, Clayton uses
his experience and talent to make it inviting to any dub-rookie. Not many
other releases can offer you good music and a chance to learn a few choice
phrases in the indigenous language of Cuna, in which 'nek sanalet' means
'world of substance'. All the tracks are harmonious while keeping in the
dub theme. Like a good artist should, Clayton gives each track its own bit
of whit and depth without letting it get to restless. In short, this
release has a touch of Clayton, with an underhand of Pole. So, get out that
Cuna dictionary and strap on your headphones, and let this San Fran based
computer programmer take your mind to your 'kalu' or spiritual fortress.
