Oh good lord, DJ Scud. What the hell was he spinning? I recgonized some traditional noise, but the rest (my girlfriend and I decided to call it "lepercaunfuckreggajedilawncore") was beyond me. It was great, everyone in the barn was going insane, delightfully juxtaposed with the folks who brought in some lawnchairs and just chilled out. Fun set. From there we went to the "Horses/Ponies #4" barn and saw Richard Devine work his magic live. I saw him at the /bin show in chicago the week before, but his "further" set was far noiser and had a noticibly harder edge. Yes, this maximalism. Bogdan really rocked the house. You could tell he was takign stage presence lessons from Rich James. During one of his many forrays from the behind the table, we had an opportunity to sit down and chat for a bit. He's a really nice guy. .diminish was suprising. I'd never heard of them and their blend of more simple beats (compared to Rich Devine) with DSP and nice melodies was really refreshing. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see PBO. We were so tired we had to hit the sack. Fortunately a friend got it on DAT. he he. It was all amazingly fun, except for the fact my girlfriend's car was broken into and a bunch of our stuff was stolen. But that was really the only significant problem. Next year should be even better. -andrew -- Visit the Bring Back the Beat Foundation homepage: http://www.calvin.edu/~asmith89/bringit.htm
