Wow, well found, Tom!
The machine is packed up now (with two 1.5V batteries in it!) so I'm not =
sure if it's parallel or series.  I didn't actually put the batteries =
in, so I don't know if they were both pointing the same way.
Either way, the battery compartment is in a hell of a lot more sensible =
place than the Waldorf Wave's - something like 18 screws to undo the =
case lid, two of them obscured by the control panel & requiring a =
specialist screwdriver, and still a two person job - one person to hold =
the panel upright.
