I think the success of Chime (top 10 UK) and their record label (FFRR)
has kept pressure on them to achieve wide popularity, which leads to
occasional poor choices on their part, and their lack of respect on
this list. I don't let that stop me from enjoying their IDM tracks.

My personal ratings (not a complete discography, just what I have):

1) Brown album/Orbital 2 (an incredible flow for about 1/2 the album)
2) In Sides (might rate #1 if part of The Box weren't sandwiched in)
3) Radiccio EP (I could halcyon & on all night)
4) The Box (I could do w/o the harpsichords & singing)
5) Green album/Orbital 1 (sounds kinda quaint & dated in places)
6) Diversions (semi-detached is brilliant)
7) The Saint/Sinner/Satan (I really didn't need another version of Satan)
8) Snivilisation (I only listen to 4 tracks)
9) Are We Here? (I hardly ever drag this out)
10)Times Fly (ditto)

What strikes me about Orbital is how inconsistant they are. I'm used
to liking 100% of an artist's output, but w/ Orbital it's more like 50%.
I blew off buying The Box, and wasn't planning to buy In Sides until a
friend played it for me, then I had to have The Box as well.

Orbital is no longer an automatic purchase for me. When they're good,
they're very good, but occasionally they do stuff that I just don't like.
