|This is kinda silly. I know plenty of women who enjoy IDM music, they're |just not as hardcore about it. there may not be many of us that are, but don't generalize... Whereas guys may get all hot and bothered |when they see a rare mask record or get all sweaty when they get ahold of |some new white label, girls tend to only buy something if they really dig |it. yet again please don't generalize. ask anyone ive been record shopping with how i react when i run across a gem or even moreso how utterly orgasmic i get when i'm awaiting some in the mail.. and yes, i as a girl, only buy something cuz i like it, and i happen to love IDM. (Although there's nothing more attractive in a girl than a good |musical collection.) | |As for going out to events, I think girls tend to view it more as a social |event, where we tend to go for specific acts. ACK! i can't believe you said this! social event my arse. what is it eh? do you assume that females on the whole have no real comprehension of deep muzik? that all we do is powder our noses and chat it up with the grrrls in the ladies rooms? sure i'll admit there are a hefty number of shallow idjuts floating in the gene pool with breasts and inverted genitalia, but from my experience there are an equal number from the male side as well. So when the crowd largely |consists of head bobbing sweaty freaks staring intently at some guys |laptop, there isn't much to offer in the way of socializing. Although |largely due to the location, we had a pretty good ratio of women to men at |both Sterile events. With the artists perched up on a loft, people had no |choice but to dance or socialize. | |If you want the women around you to get into IDM, try playing it for them. |Don't play them the most fucked up gescom record you can find, i disagree with this also.. why not play the hardest, most fukked up IDM you've got? If she really gets into it and understands it, well that says a lot about what kindof person she is... ease them |in with something with melody.
