>I do not think this is true. I read Cut Chemist *studied* John Cage but >didn't study under him. >Cage didn't bring out the upstarts like Stockhausen did (Air Liquide and >Can). Yeah. I remember for a bit 'Stocky' was offering to lend his credits to your resume for a mere $300. All you had to do was attend one of his lectures at Darmstadt. Then add the phrase 'studied w/Stockhausen' to your list of credentials. Sneaky. More seriously, I understand that Cristian Vogel STUDIED with Stockhausen at one point. Any confirmations/denunciations? >>Just curious, can anyone confirm/deny that Cut >>Chemist actually studied under John Cage ?!? >> >>I'm one half baffled, one half not at all >>surprised. I don't believe Cage actually held a specific Conservatory post at any point in his life. At least not long enough for anyone to be an 'apprentice' or 'understudy'. If meeting him/attending one of his many lectures constitutes 'studying under' him, there are probably tens of thousands of 'disciples' out there. Track them all down. -Våt. ____________________ Reckankreuzungsklankewerkzeuge PO BOX 382864. Cambridge, MA 02238 http://www.tiac.net/users/sheket/index.html
