Just got an excellent new cd by Cologne's own Bionaut called "Friends" and it contains 15 tracks including remixes=20 by Markus Schmickler, Mouse on Mars, Schlammpeitziger, and F. Ackerman. For those unfamiliar with the sound of the bionaut, he combines a deep cologne techno groove with a quirky spacey guitar elements. If you have last year's Burger/Ink release then you know exactly what the sound of Bionaut is like. You see, Bionaut is =BD of=20 Burger/Ink and he also records as The Modernist amongst other guises. Anyway, here is the info on this recent relase: . The Bionaut: friends cd (EMI/Eat Raw/Harvest) Tracks: - rickenbacker elektro - wunschmaschinenpark - der kurze weg - interlude w/brian - sparring partner - aquamarine reprise - un buon domani fratello - wild horse annie as herself - weird wired world - good-bye-onaut - (i wish i was) tied to bertha - wild horse annie (res. edit) - student bashing on mars (mouse on mars remix) - wild horse annie im parageleiterfluchtflug (schlammpeitziger remix) - electric campfire (in a real ackermann style) btw: the track on this release entitled "good-bye-onaut" (and=20 the inside art of the jewel case also states "good-bye-onaut.")=20 tells an interesting story. Word on the street has is that the recent founding of the Popular=20 Tools Organisation by Mr. Bionaut proper was sparked by ill=20 dealings w/a certain revived EMI-funded/Cologne-themed electronic=20 subsidiary, and that this release was conceived as the means to end=20 an obligatory contractual engagement, that of the legal right to the=20 name 'The Bionaut.' (Story courtesy of Hrvatski) btw: also recommended is the recent Modernist: Miss New Deal=20 cd on the aforementioned Popular Tools Organization label. -->-Lance--- xxxxxxx@xxxx.xxx xxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
