ahhh yes...Mr Levy Early stuff can be more reggae, while later stuff more dancehall. All wicked as far as I'm concerned. 'Here I Come' is a good one (and a long standing Ninja Tune office classic) that bridges the two styles. Contains his hits 'Under Mi Sensi' and 'Here I Come'. I would say next to that, 'DJ Counteraction' would be the next buy. Updated versions of some his classic tunes with Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Cutty Ranks, etc... Both of these are on Greensleeves and shouldn't be to hard to find. There was some slightly shakey but pretty wicked (in a ragga jungle way) D&B mixes of 'Under Mi Sensi' and 'Two Sounds' that came out on Greensleeves a few years back also. Good party tunes and all. While we're on the ragga tip. There's a tune that has a ragga m.c (sounds like it could possibly be Tenor Fly or Super Cat) toasting over a loop of Survivor 'Eye Of The Tiger'. Does anyone know what this is? It's not to be confused with the Ice Cube tune with the same Survivor sample. Anyway, it's ridicously cheesy but so wicked I've got to own it. And hell while we're at it. I need to track down legenday porn funk star Blowfly for an interview. Does anyone have any leads. I've tried the Miami phone book, but no luck. Jeff >well, it seems like a lot of people on the list are into dub (and reggae), >so: >can anyone recommend anything by or give me info on barrington levy?... >theres one track on the trojan story pt2. box set. 'rob & gone' ..and its >amazing...i need more.. >please help.. >
