I think High Llamas are the main proginetors of the post-Beach Boys sound.
I saw them open up for Stereolab last November and it sounded like Brian
Wilson had escaped from whatever home he is in and was playing on stage.
By the way, it  was good! Check out the issue of Option magazine with
Stereolab on the cover (issue before last); it has an entire article on all
these new Beach Boys/Bacharach/Gainsbourg bands; i.e., High Llamas,
Supersticks, etc.

Ironically the same issue has an article where a writer subjects Steve
Reich and Phillip Glass to records by mu-Ziq, Orbital and others. The
reaction was not good!
