Best Buy is based in my home state Minnesota, so the local press covers a lot of stories on it. An article in a weekly out here stated that BB had originally stocked CDs under "market value" in order to pull in customers who would then be more likely to buy their CD players or other electronics. They also carried any local artist's CD as a show of support (read: easy local $$). Now they have dropped the local artist deal, raised prices, and will also be cutting back on a lot of titles in order to make room for their new magazine section. So don't hold your breath for your favorite IDM releases because those titles will probably be the first to get the axe when it falls.
