I just wanna say that your reaction was not unreasonable at all. I put a lot of effort into what my label does and a lot of heart and spirit into it. And when you're starting out, you don't get a lot of tangible stuff back. Similarly, I can relate to my roommate's annoyances as well. He's on my label (yet to release anything) - does the one guy one guitar kinda thing. He played at cosuardstockapaloozathon 98 fest (plug plug), and all went well. One of our acquaintances later said to him "At least I don't have to play my roommate's birthday party to get a gig". I always passed that off as just someone talking... but then I did a DJ set at a rave at 3am that was not even all that good for my stuff normally and got bitchslapped textwise on a few of the scene's websites. So I pretty much pledged to myself that I would avoid criticizing anyone's art harshly, or in a non-constructive manner. Bush and Creed don't count, though. Just some thoughts to the list out there. Oh yeah, anyone in Dallas, I'll mention again I'm playing some time Saturday night at Illusions (http://www.angelfire.com/tx2/raves), and Fluoroscopic Kid will be doing a live PA. I'm still told Yarn of the Moonfruit will play, and they're very noisy and abstract, so that fits the list too. $5. Come on, live a little.
