lance- yes, get both lps. from what i know of your tastes you'll like
_didot_ best, but if you like all of the 7-inch, you'll like both. the
first record, _uni umit_, is out soon domestic through jim o'rourke's
moikai label.

ack! you'll know this in greater detail soon enough, john, but i'm
thinking _glam_ is the best thing mom have yet released. it has exactly
the right balance of movement and pause, and it's stylistically the least
derivative of any of their albums. there's nary a gimmick in-tow, and
humor and "seriousness" or present in equal measures. there are so many
reasons why i've loved the last year or so of music released by andi tom
and jan werner, and _glam_ is a concentrated and almost complete and
compiling of each and every one. by all means give it another listen, a
close one...

not a bad comparison, actually. and the lines are definitely blurring (no
pun intended) between mom and lithops...viva koln!

p.s. since i seem to be in yay-say mode, _chill out_ remains one of the
most listened-to albums in my collection. after almost a decade it's
*still* utterly enthralling!
