I love e2-34, and i have heard and liked plenty of Schulze and Froese, and i sincerely *detest* 'rainbow dome music', i use it as a benchmark for extremely wanky hippy nonsense, gong, system 7 , teapots BLAH! However i do really enjoy Terry Riley 'Rainbow in curved air' which many people could also describe as extremely wanky hippy nonsense, ...which it basically is,, but lush with it. The fact that Rileys other Meisterwerks such as Poppy Nogood, In C and Persian Surgery dervishes show a extremely broad sense of styles (while remaining recognisably Riley), In C was obviously a big influence on Steve Reich, who took the concept and made it *sing*. And Poppy nogood is a pretty good benchmark for todays 'Dark' ambient, Riley used to jam this piece all night, continuously looping his improvised Organ and Saxophone to marvellous results. I suggest Terry Riley as a much more rewarding and non-wiggy alternative to R.D.M. and Hillage in general. Steve
