RITUAL 3: Integration, A Planet E Evening, takes place THIS UPCOMING
WEEKEND on Saturday July 25 in Toronto and features Carl Craig Live as
Paperclip People as well as Moodymann Djing and locals the full live
7-person funk-house band the Zen Brothers, Dj Split, Dj Eric Downer, Dj
Adam Marshall, Drummer Elad'n, and in the Loading Lounge Djs Jason Palma &
Paul E Lopes spinning together.
This unforgettable night will be the first time Carl plays live in Toronto,
and his set is highly anticipated after such memorable moments as the Ovum
party in Miami in March. Moodymann is welcomed back after a brief stint
here 1 1/2 years ago, long before the stellar norotiety of his Planet E
album. The Zen Brothers are upcoming talent to watch in Toronto in a
similar vein to Sylk 130-- live jazz-influcenced, band-oriented funk &
house, with touches of Drum & Bass. A moody, deep and groovy tech-house
night to be had by all.
RITUAL 3 will be held at Industry Nightclub, 901 King St W. Infolines: 416.
760.3281 Ritual, 416.260.2660 Industry. Tickets are $15 adv., $20 @ door
and the event is 19+ licensed LLBO. Ritual 3 runs from 10pm-8am. Tix are
available at: Rotate This, Play De Record, Speed, Uncle Otis, Traxx,
Eastern Bloc & Ragtag Fairview.

RITUAL 4: Submission takes place the FOLLOWING WEEKEND on Saturday August 1
-- Caribana long weekend in Toronto-- and features Autechre Live, Richie
Hawtin as DJ with 909 & effects, Theorem Live and locals the Subtonic
Monks, an 8-piece acoustic world drumming ensemble, drummer Elad'n, and Djs
Algorhythm & Lotus, as well as video & installation art by Optical
Assembly, Simon Cowling, Curtis MacDonald, Jubal Brown & Dan Driscoll.
This will be the first set by Autechre in Toronto in over 2 years and
heralds their new album, 'Album', which is out now in Europe on WARP but
will be out in North America in a few months, when Autechre return to 'do'
America. Canada, as usual, is ahead of the game. The last time Autechre
played Toronto at Transcendance 'live' in March '96, their set was heralded
as the dawning of a new era and an inspiration for many local new producers
today. Ae are joined by the return of Richie Hawtin, ever a Toronto techno
favourite, who is also on tour for his album 'Consumed', out now on
Mute/M_nus. Rich will continue on his trend of embellishing his DJ sets
with elaborate use of effects and the powerful 909.
Ritual 4 will be held at a legal licensed concert venue TBA, but which is
quite small. Tickets are expected to sell out in advance and we advise
early arrival. Live acts begin at MIDNIGHT sharp. Please call 416.760.3281
for more info on location, etc. Tickets are $25 adv. and this event is also
19+ licensed LLBO before 2:45 am. Ritual 4 runs from 10pm-8 am. Tix are
