7Th City Tour - Los Angeles

Last night was a real treat! John Tejada spun a really
nice set and good mix of music. He really should play
out more often in Los Angeles. Quality set!

Daniel Bell did a live set, it was very old school
techno sounding. He played some of his classic tunes
like Losing Control. I believe his set was only about
20 minutes long, at least that is what it seemed like.

Claude Young was sick!! He was absolutely slamming and
insane behind the decks. Super dj skills, hard tracks,
great at scratching...even with his face. He used his
forehead and cheeks a few times. And even used his
mouth on the crossfader. All I can say is don't ever
miss this guy if you get a chance to see him. One of
the absolute best techno djs set i have ever
witnessed. As Anthony Shakir put it that was a "murder
set".

Anthony Shakir started his "live" set right after
Claude Young. It was really excellent Detroit techno
set. He played alot of his classic tracks like
Roaming, Stereotype, Floorfiller, and some brand new
tracks that are coming out on his forthcoming album.
Very nice stuff!! For those of you that haven't heard
the Waiting For Russell ep (Frictional) or "Tracks for
My Father" (7Th City) go get them!!!!

He also said that "Songs For My Mother" is coming out
on Frictional. A SHAKE LP, a DA SAMPLA lp, and others
in the works.

I spoke with Claude Young for a bit, i guess he has to
finish his LP for Djax. He also has another mix cd
coming out. The Dj Kicks cd he did a few years ago is
brilliant!!!!!
I also asked Claude if he had any plans to collaborate
with Ian O'Brien again. And he said that they have
been talking about it for a while, and it looks like
they will.

Excellent show Green Galactic deserves major props for
helping put this together.

PS John Tejada played some brand new songs at the end
of the night. Really cool stuff!!!

And then it was comedy hour (in the parking lot) with
Shake. He is funny as hell! Him and Claude Young
talked for a long time about techno, Detroit, and
loads more.
