I am a bit surprised that expressing my musical tastes warrant me being
labeled a "fussy narrow-minded IDM nazi." I can't apologize if my
muscial tastes aren't on the same level as yours. Having individual
tastes makes the world go round, I would never attack someone for not
liking something I like, that's narrow minded. I like what I like and
that's all I know, my opinons aren't the right opinions, they just
happen to be how I see it at this point in time. My opinions change
with time. I originally posted because I wanted to know what other
people thought about the Plaid album, and whether the vocals added to or
subtracted from the overall sonic environment. It's easy to attack
someone's character, especially when you're weak, but when you don't
even know me, or my tastes, and then you attack me because I am not
particularly fond of the Plaid full-length because of the vocal
additions then you only prove who here is the real "fussy narrow-minded
IDM nazi." I'm stating my opinion, which happens to be about something
that should be discussed in this medium. Stop trying to impress
everybody with your hardcore stance. I appeal to you to address my
comments intellectually, don't waste this space to just play the bullie.

>Are you suggesting the likes of Nicolette and Bjork are nothing
special?

What I am suggesting is that I would like the Plaid album much better if
there were no vocal tracks. I don't particularly like vocals in
electronic music, but that's not the case all the time. For instance,
I really like the Mouse on Mars single with Laetia from Stereolab. I
could state other examples of vocal tracks I like, but that's quite
besides the point, how broad my music collection is isn't what is being
discussed. For now I'll make a simple request since I want to
understand where other people are coming from, I'm interested in hearing
suggestions for the best idm tracks with vocals, so that I can expand my
horizons. Feel free to send me your opinions privately.

With all this wasted mail sent out about some subjective opinions I had
posted, all I can say is that I hope people start cleaning up idm, so
that it's not just a bunch of flames and attacks. I would like to think
we can have concrete discussions here about issues pertaining to
electronic music. This is rediculous. Needless to say, I still love
you all. Hope you had a wonderful Halloween. I'll give that Plaid cd a
few more twirls in the meantime.
