hola,

first - anyone know what speed the eardrum _first mutation_ 12" (soul
static sound) is supposed to be played at? i'm leaning towards 33, but
it sounds a little bit wrong at either speed. maybe 39rpm?

as regards markant 15 (the 10" HardWax edition), it's really quite
impressive. comparisons to autechre are valid, but more to _amber_ than
to anything recent. side A is some standard Ae-derived stuff, but very
well done. side B is the killer - a kind of melancholy, emotional
atmosphere, with a slow, subdued rattle-trap beat, with some lovely
melodies played on something chimelike; this really does it for me,
e-music with emotion, it's a hell of a thing. (and i grow more and more
curious as to how anyone could dis markant in favor of funkstorung; the
only track by them that comes CLOSE to this is "porto.") is markant 15
worth 15-20 bucks? hmm. i'll get back to you. (after i buy markant
10, 11, 12, 13, and 14, tee hee.)

anywon wanna trade some slightly used funkstorung for the thomas
brinkmann _supposex_ lp? okay, how about mask 300 for some markant?
okay, how about _lego feet_ for your sister? maybe this old hula 78
that i got at goodwill and wrote V/VM on the label (ltd ed. 1) for your
immortal soul? any takers?
