I'd like to mention two things: 1.) Daft Punk sold their Album "Homework" 2.5 Million times, which had been recorded on a Mackies (MS-1202 and CR-1604) using a Behringer and a Alesis Compressor and a Behringer Parametric EQ. (https://enmoreaudio.com/check-out-a-full-list-of-the-gear-daft-punk-used-to-record-homework/) 2.) Cadac or Harrison or AMEK or which highly "professional" brand ever would have dreamt in the late 70ies of the qualities of todays mixer which you can buy for $150 (name it Alesis, Yamaha, Behringer, Mackie,...) There were opamps used which today perhaps are good enough for driving a LED but will never placed into an audio path, and the resistors where noisy and had a 10 times as bad variation as todays standard resistors. And nevertheless they made incredible well sounding productions on those old mixers back in these days. I love talking about gear, but I am sorry: this gear shit does not matter neither for the music nor for the success! Florian -- http://www.florian-anwander.de
