I asked a similar question on another forum regarding a different synth, =
and the paraphrased response was =E2=80=9Cthe life of the battery tends =
to exceed the length of the warranty, so manufacturers generally don=E2=80=
=99t care.=E2=80=9D That and batteries are soldered on to the board (as =
opposed to using a battery clip) so that they can=E2=80=99t become =
dislodged with shipping, gigging, etc.

Makes sense to me...
