Hello Mr. Church and fellow list members, The Kumquat CD is a quirky and refreshing little piece of work with high enjoyment levels. It combines some of my favorite elements of electronic music: the undeniable funk of electro, the U-Ziq(esque)& jazz-inflected vibes, well placed samples in the vein of Boards of Canada and hip-hop, and plenty of melodies that please the ear. (Let us not forget the 80s Glamrock guitar licks accompanied by "third dimension" dude in "Proboscis" ;) The production quality is clean and crisp and the packaging left me feeling guilty. Not only is the jewel case and CD laden with original, professional quality collages, the actual CD comes in a cool cardboard caddy with more excellent artwork. It was a guilty feeling to me because all of this great music and professional packaging was...free! Congratualtions to you on a fine piece of work; thank you very much for letting me have a copy. I know that there was a buzz on this list awhile back for the disc but I felt compelled to plug it and thank Fred at the same time. If you haven't sampled Kumquat, tear off a piece and enjoy; you won't be disappointed. John _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
