you know what, i agree with everything you say here, but not quite so
passionately. not because i'm not passionate, but because i think the
IDM list is not quite like real life, where everything you say should be
believed passionately.
yeah, i dissed alex, but because dissing is fun. i mean, i didn't really
think anybody was MEAN to him (save maybe wells but we all know what
wells is like and i think we all get a kick out of it, or we should.
he's a real character, a list personality). i was trying to have a bit
of fun. it really made me feel great when about ten people came back
with very matter of fact replies of, "uhh.. music is subjective. you
can't criticize Alex for trying." i had underestimated the list and
thought people either would just laugh along with us pranksters or
apathetically scroll to the next listing of what's playing on various
college radio stations (that's always the most interesting part, you
know). but people (not in a radical, inflamed way, let me add) let us
pranksters know that anti-intellectualism isn't cool, and i think this
whole ordeal was worth it just to reinforce anyone's faith that the *I*
most certainly SHOULD be there... just look at how UNapathetic and
UNunintellectual the majority of responses were.
i'm not recanting what i said, don't get me wrong. i can't speak for
others but if you look back at my post, you'll see i was making fun of
myself, too, with a references to the WWF attempting to point out my
sarcasm. i don't think anything that awful was said, but i can
understand why you're reacting the way you did. we've just got a lot of
different personalities here, some of us like to take advantage of an
exposed crotch, others don't. i don't think any hard feelings should be
harbored either way.

love,
