But I've been listening to the Aemic 10" a bit lately, and it's got its > moments. So as far as Swap goes: redeeming virtues? Or more of the same? i have both the aemic 10" & the swap 12" & i like both almost equally. what the swap lacks in melody the aemic has, & what the aemic lacks in edge the swap has. swap is more distorted, there is less layering. the sound is altogether rawer. compared to the recent while 12", this is definitely in the funkstorung/mas vein, but it's still a pleasant listen. track a2 has been playing on my turntable quite a lot recently. i would say buy it unless you're really jaded with the genre. personally i don't like much of what i heard on skam but i'm really getting into musik aus strom & funkstorung. (that may surprise some after my 'funny' post on fng vs ae, but as much as autechre seem to veer into boredomland with each successive release, funkstorung has done it the other way around to me. obviously your mileage may vary.) -- david
