Markus Popp (Oval) isn't so much about music as he is, to paraphrase his own description, about the "workflow" of a particular musical situation. In this case, he was given SP's "Big Loada," and set to work manipulating it within the context of certain software paradigms, or to paraphrase him again, metaphors. Thus, Oval's output isn't necessarily going to be a reflection of a musically-inclined aesthetic ideal or goal, but more of a situation in which the means justify the ends. I've never seen him live, but I get the sense that would be instrumental in making "sense" of Oval's output. This, however, is not a justification for the pain that track causes...nor is it to warn you off to his previous material. I think Systemisch and Szenario work very well and I enjoy them quite a bit. laz Eddie Symons wrote: > > ><< I might add that the Labradford remix of LFO possibly wins for the most > > unlistenable song in my entire CD collection (that high frequency...ouch!) > >> > > > >To say nothing of the Vibert remix of DJ Mink's "Hey hey!
