Went to my favorite record shop today in Houston, Texas (yup, that's in America) and picked up a nice brand new copy of the new Autechre for 21 bucks. To my surprise, I asked the clerk how they procured this release when there is an import ban, and they looked at me like I was sick in the head. They pulled up their list of distributors in front of me on the computer and showed that there were several in the US that were supplying the album. Does anyone know where this idea of a ban started? or if it is from a reliable source, just how the ban was going to be implemented cause it sure didn't work for H-town. Enough of the bullshit, now for the music. Only on one listen I can already tell I have a favorite in my hands. Every track is a new sonic experiment that totally emerses you (well especially if you're already a fan.) #6 is my favorite so far. I also listened to the new DMX Krew on Rephlex while I was there and was pleasantly surprised, and then disapointed. What the hell is up with the track listing? There are 8 songs listed on the back of the cd and then when you go to listen there are 16 tracks. Those extra 8 tracks are just the same 8 tracks repeated over again. I knew something was up when i put the cd in the player and it read 65 minutes for only 8 songs. Is there a point to this or just another "let's fuck with our fans" bullshit. I would'nt really care otherwise, but the album carried the regular 21 dollar import price for 32 minutes worth of music. I will probably still get it though being the fiend that i am, damn those fuckers. jack tripper _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
