this is a full-length from the swedish svek label which came out 2 months
ago or so. it's incredible. nothing has moved me so much since herbert w/
dani siciliano. it's much in the same vein: house. driving, tasteful,
soulful and funky as hell house. no vocals. killer basslines, sometimes
sparsely placed and thus very effectful synth sequences, sometimes laid
back jazziness, a very slight berlin reference or two and quite a few
herbert references, but at the same time keeping its unique style. several
tracks i remembered hearing at a svek label night a month ago - tracks that
made me wonder why there can't be more house like this and why there can't
be svek label nights every week.
disc of the summer 1999, hands down.
cheers, tom
