I dont know whether it helps but with winamp 2.08 and probably earlier
versions you should take a look in the "Preferences" menu (press Ctrl+P)
then look in the "Options" page, and you will see a check box saying
"allow multiple instances" which does just that.

Wheter it lets you overlap/mix two or more MP3's I dont know.
