Here's a reply to the message "Re: (idm) designersrepublic" you wrote on Mon, 27 Sep 1999 21:23:22 -0700: > The music, as noted from the commercial, sucks ass. Can't wait to see it on PC, it will probably look >even better. If you're after more Designers Republic in computer games, check out Hard War on the PC. Much overlooked. It plays like a cross between Elite and Mercenary. The game takes place on the surface of a planet, full of interconnected cities and territories controlled by various factions. The player must forge some career for himself within this world and/or get involved in a twisty-turny plot. Great stuff. DR have their design scattered all over the place (if you're familiar with DR -- you'll recognise the box in an instant) and the game's soundtrack comprises exclusively of Warp artists -- Autechre, Black Dog, LFO, Squarepusher and Rac. Don't get too excited though -- no exclusive tracks, just stuff from existing EPs/LPs. The music suits the game's atmosphere perfectly though. Have a sniff around the bargain bins and you may find a copy. The game itself is actually very good, although the playing area could have been bigger. -- Mark Stevens http://www.headspin.clara.net/
