By the way, last week on my radio show I played the Boards of Canada track from Diskono[x] and I'm sure it'll appear again sometime. I'm doing a show on FBi radio in Sydney, which is campaigning for a full-time license but at the moment it's on air for 6 weeks (5 weeks left). My show is called Eclecticity and is basically a broad range of idm-type music and related stuff. "Experimental and underground electronic music" is the tag-line. If anyone's in Sydney, it's on Wednesday nights from 11pm-2am on FBi, 96.9-FM. Give it a listen and let me know whether it's truly awful or not! ObIDM: Got the Carpet Bomb comp "Highways Over Gardens" the other day and it is totally "Da Bomb". Brilliant! The second-last track goes for about 22 minutes, mad ever-changing drum'n'bass (of the not-too-annoying-drill'n'bass variety... I like it!) The beats are mostly drum'n'bass in that they're fast and complex, and the music often recalls Tortoise kind of stuff. Very interesting, very cool. Peter. np: Uri Caine/Gustav Mahler - Primal Light/Urlicht. Though not idm (it's klezmer/Jewish/jazz versions of Mahler's music, utterly brilliant, sensitive, beautiful...) it does have DJ Olive from We doing turntables. -- Peter Hollo xxxxx@xxxxxxxx.xxx.xx http://www.fourplay.com.au/me.html FourPlay - Eclectic Electric String Quartet http://www.fourplay.com.au "Of course, dance music can be a music where you lie on your back and your brain cells dance" -Michael Karoli of Can, quoted in Wire mag.
