I agree with what's said below. I've had two vintage MS20 - one with the screw in the VCA section and one without (most recently the one without). I've also had an MS20m. I just this week sold my original serviced MS20 and re-purchased the MS20m that I had originally sold to a friend. The MS20m has sync, switch for both filter types, pwm in, and midi. Additionally, it is a nice size and feels well built. Note that it doesn't have independent cv in for osc 1 and 2. This didn't bother me. Sound wise - - I feel like the MS20m has a larger musical range and sounded more pleasant and smooth when I wanted it to. The original I felt sounded either harsh and very aggressive or good with a small-ish sweet spot. I ended up keeping my vintage SQ10 - and it should still interface just fine with the ms20m. -Brandon On 4/12/18, Tomislav Babic <xxxxxxxx.xxxxx@xxxxx.xxx> wrote: > there are some old analog synths, where recreations and reissues pale in > comparison and miss the spark that made em magical - however MS20 is not > one of them. > > imo Korg's 20m is a rare example where reissue sound is quite similar, an= d > some > crucial omissions from the original are remedied, extending the range of > instrument quite a bit. basically win win. much more portable too > without the vertical > element. > > i used to have the mk2 years ago, but am also looking to pickup an MS20m > these days. > > > > On Thu, Apr 12, 2018 at 12:59 PM, Peter Forrest <xxxxxxxx@xxxxx.xx.xx> > wrote: > >> One other consideration, maybe: **many** original products seem to be a >> lot easier to service than **many** modern ones.
