Re: [AH] Gear with balanced outputs

My feeling is that most, if not all the gear on your list has
unbalanced audio outs and I own roughly half the gear on your list.
Two of the units I can't confirm are the Kawai RV-4 and the MaM RS3.
When Boss gear has balanced outputs they tend to call it out in the
manual. The manuals for the Boss RRV-10, Boss RCE-10, and Boss CE-300
do not mention that they have balanced outputs, and while I don't own
them its likely they have unbalanced outputs.

MoogerFooger - unbalanced

Matrix-1000 - unbalanced
From the manual "Connect the AUDIO OUTPUT jack of the Matrix-1000 to a
mixing board, hi-fi system, instrument amplifier, or a sound system,
using a standard audio cable (guitar cord) with a 1/4 inch plug.

OSCar - unbalanced
From the manual, "For connection to an amplifier, a "mono" type of
jack plug should be used and the lead should be of the usual screened
type. The socket is of the stereo type so that high impedance
headphones can be plugged in directly to the audio output socket for
practice or setting up (without needing to change the headphone jack
plug wiring)."

Moog MiniMoog Model D Reissue - unbalanced
The manual shows TS outputs as opposed to TRS. "On the top panel, two
1/4=E2=80=9D TS outputs are provided.

Strymon Big Sky - unbalanced

Brian's post is spot on. Here's another good article by Bill Whitlock
on "Connecting Unbalanced Outputs To Balanced Inputs=E2=80=94And Vice-Versa=
