I arrived >here as such: > ok, i'll bite before 'infiltration' ge's added to kill files globally, right above 'weep' just milestones, as i'm sure there's no real thread of continuity or evolution. i'm lost, how the hell should i know how i got here? late sixties: jonesin' on my uncle's VU, MC5, blue cheer and hendrix records, mostly trippin on the album covers, but also watchin him dose curled up on the futon wishin i was old enough to "really appreciate" the music.... 1969: first record purchased with my own money (my 2nd grade report card haul) steppenwolf 2. 1969 - 1973: every steppenwolf record known to man seventies: all the stuff that a budding spicole could scam out of columbia house , rca etc (floyd, zep, nugent, KISS, new york dolls, etc.) freaked when i also bought radioactivity, and man machine on a whim. 77-80: punk / new wave phase: devo, costello, clash, patti smith, wall of voodoo, MX80 sound, residents, joy division 80-86: (college) new order, anything by 4AD, U2, polyrock, gang of four, sad lovers&giants, sonic youth, eno, heads, echo & the bunnymen also beginning digging the first synth pop wave: soft cell, heaven17, human league, depeche etc. 86-89 (real world): house of love, jesus&mary chain, swans, shoegaze (ride, slowdive) 1989: first party(chicago): realized house wasn't just boomboomboomboom but still rockin' primarily to spacemen3, stone roses, verve, mondays etc. 91: bought UR: final frontier and fell headlong into 313 worship 93: SAW85-92, the rest is fairly predictable 98: funkstorung, chain reaction, mannequin lung and mp3's of MC5 and VU sorry for the crawl down memory lane.....
